The Education Studio speaks to Pam Tatlow, Chief Executive of MillionPlus discussing her views on the future of higher education funding and loans.

She explains why the MillionPlus election manifesto included a pledge to “Improve the funding system to meet the needs of students, universities and business” saying that there are legitimate concerns about participation from older and part-time students.

She goes on to express worries about 19 year olds who have left school without a A level or BTEC, who wish to study for these qualifications having to pay college fees or get a loan on exactly the same terms as a higher education student. She questions whether this system is “sustainable for a 21st century workforce”.
